■ FUNCTION : - The drip edge (or apron) helps guide the rainwater flow into the gutter profile when the tile overhang is not sufficient. It thus prevents rainwater from infiltrating between the facade and the gutter profile. It also protects the eaves board.

■ IMPLEMENTATION : - Attach the drip edge to the last batten of the tiled roof, or directly onto the boarding if the roof is slate, using wide-headed nails and nailing the drip edge through the elongated holes. Space the nails at regular intervals of no more than 0.50 m. The drip edge should fit into the gutter profile by at least 15 mm depending on the different models. Do not overly tighten the drip edge to allow for natural expansion. - Using a cutter, cut the anti-capillarity rib by 10 cm. The connection between two drip edges is made by simple overlapping, without gluing, taking into account the prevailing winds. The proper holding of the profiles will be done by nailing through the 2 previously overlapped elongated holes. - After completing the connection of the 2 lengths of drip edge, secure with wide-headed nails (space them at regular intervals, every 0.50 m maximum). To allow for natural expansion, avoid tightening the drip edge too much. - In case of installing an under-roof screen, it rests on the upper part of the drip edge (minimum overlap of 60 mm). The under-roof screen is nailed or stapled with the drip edge on the last tilting batten or on the eaves board.
