Easy installation of the Equatair heat recovery unit:
1. Place the cast iron heating body under your wood logs or on the specially designed Kit-deco or on your andirons.
2. Connect the flexible metal duct to the fan that you have placed on the left or right of the fireplace.
3. It's done! You can start your fire; in ten minutes, the heat recovery unit then efficiently and pleasantly heats your room.
How the Equatair heat recovery unit works:
The fan draws air from the room and sends it into the flexible duct, then into the heating body placed at the heart of the embers; the air absorbs a maximum of heat there and then diffuses it into your room.
Is the heat recovery unit effective?
The air snakes for 1.70 meters (total length of the cast iron coil if it were "unfolded") in the hottest part of the fireplace (750 to 850°C) then is ventilated directly into the room when it has reached its maximum temperature.
Twenty minutes after lighting the fire, the air already comes out at 200°C, it can reach 350°C after an hour.
As it is dry air that is ventilated, there is no risk of burns; the principle is the same as that of a hairdryer.
With its calorific power of 7,000 Watts, the Equatair Classic can heat up to 230 m3.
This speed in obtaining a pleasant temperature in the room is particularly appreciable in secondary residences or for intermittent use of the fireplace (a few hours in the evening in particular).
The width of the heating body (50 cm) allows this heat recovery unit to be placed even in small fireplaces; in large ones, it corresponds to the effective width of the hearth (a one-meter log only burns over 60 cm); a wider heating body would be less efficient.
Does a heat recovery unit really save money?
The fan's consumption is very low (35 W); moreover, to optimize the performance of the heat recovery unit, it is not necessary to maintain large flames, good embers are sufficient.
Modular:
The heating body is reversible, it can be placed with the air inlet on the right or left. The same goes for the Kit-deco.
If you want to move the fan away from the fireplace, you can extend the duct to obtain a maximum length of four meters (the duct is available in lengths of one meter or 1.25 m.
Similarly, at the outlet of the device, you can direct the hot air to another room; however, you will need to insulate the air duct considering its high temperature.
Robust:
The heating body and the Kit-deco are made of high-quality cast iron, they withstand high temperatures very well.
The low rotation speed of the fan (1,300 rpm) and its mounting on ball bearings ensure its longevity for many years.
The flexible duct, made of electro-galvanized steel, is kept at room temperature by the passage of air coming from the fan.
