Colorless rust inhibitor Rustol, 500 ml canister OWATROL reference 164665

Allow your materials to withstand time with RUSTROL - OWATROL. This rust treatment makes your materials more resistant, stops rust, and protects them from external aggressions. To be used as an undercoat before your finishing paint, it guarantees a quality result and preserves your materials from heat and humidity thanks to its protective film.

Penetrating and insulating rust inhibitor directly on rust
- Penetrates to the sound metal while expelling air and moisture.
- Forms an insulating and flexible protective film. Resists up to +175°C.

Additive for paints, varnishes, and oil-based stains​
- Dilution: 25% per liter in the first coat or 50% if the surface is smooth or porous.
- Makes paints, varnishes, and glycerol stains rustproof. Facilitates their application.
- Replaces thinners: does not evaporate.
- Increases the covering power of finishes.

Adhesion base for all surfaces
- Pure in the first coat.
- Adheres to all smooth surfaces: glass, PVC, ferrous or non-ferrous metals...
- Allows covering aluminum, galvanized steel, and zinc without stripping.

Decorative aspect
- Preserves the rusty appearance of surfaces while protecting them.

Ferrous and non-ferrous metals. (Can be applied on wood, plastics, glass...)
Oxidized to very oxidized surfaces.
On new surfaces, preferably use RUSTOL-PRIMER paint-like appearance or RUSTOL-DÉCO.
Compatible with all air-drying oil-based varnishes, paints, lacquers, and stains (alkyds), oil paints, glycerophthalic paints, single-component urethanes, petroleum asphalt-based paints, greasy coatings. Can be mixed with oil-based stains for better wood impregnation and good protection of metal parts (hinges and fittings).
Incompatible when added to fast-drying paints (car body type), chlorinated rubber or two-component paints, water-based paints (see OWATROL E-B and FLOETROL).

Ensure the surface is dry and free of grease stains and scale.

RUSTOL-OWATROL is more effective on slightly oxidized surfaces as it uses rust as a pigment to form the protective film.
To make paints rustproof, always perform a compatibility test and plan a mixture of 25% RUSTOL-OWATROL and 75% paint
To facilitate the application of paints, as a replacement for thinners, plan an addition of 5% RUSTOL-OWATROL.
