Gebsicone S translucent : Silicone sealant

Functionality:

Silicone sealant for technical joints and bonding :

• Sealing, caulking and bonding (glass/glass and glass/metal).
• Waterproofing between tiles, even when immersed (after complete curing), in swimming pools, swimming pools and spas and whirlpools.
• Production of in-situ seals for pumps, compressors, electric motors, gearboxes, thermostats, casings...
• Replacement of worn or damaged seals, air ducts, ventilation ducts, housings, electrical cabinets and electrical wire crossings.
• Assembly of aquariums.

Implementation:

Preparation:

• The work must be carried out in accordance with DTU 39 / NFP78 201.
• Glass, tiles: degreasing with alcohol followed by wiping with a clean cloth.
• Metals, aluminium: removal of rust and passivation of supports. If necessary, sanding with abrasive,
• degreasing with alcohol followed by wiping with a clean cloth. For anodized aluminum, only a degreasing is required.
• Plastics: Abrasive sanding, degreasing with a solvent recommended by the manufacturer, and if necessary a flaming (carry out preliminary tests).
• Generally speaking, the surfaces must be sound, dry, dust-free and free of grease.

Instructions for use :

• If necessary, apply masking tape.
• Apply the sealant with a manual or pneumatic gun (no heating is necessary). Under no circumstances, the sealant cannot be applied in immersion or on wet surfaces.
• Depending on the work to be done (sealing, caulking or gluing), either smooth the joint with a wet spatula to to press the filler against the substrate, or crush the filler bead with the second surface to be bonded.

Consumption :

Depending on the size of the joint and the application, a 310 ml cartridge will produce a joint of length (the length of the joint is expressed in meters) :

Cleaning of equipment :

• The cleaning of the equipment is done with acetone, white spirit or ethyl alcohol before drying the putty and by scraping after hardening.

Storage:

• Store at a temperature between -5°C and +30°C.
• The expiry date on the package is measured on unopened product, stored at 20°C under the following conditions normal hygrometry.

Observations:

• In most cases of sealing, when the joint is confined and not very stressed, this sealant can be applied to wood, metals and plastics. In the case of technical bonding, where the joint is mechanically stressed, it is recommended use an adhesion primer (consult us for the reference to use). On some unprotected metals, risk of corrosion.
• Not recommended for special coated lenses.
