Easy to install the Equatair recuperator :
1. Place the cast iron heating element under your wood logs or on the specially designed Kit-déco or on your andirons.
2. Connect the flexible metal liner to the fan that you will have placed on the left or right side of the chimney.
3. That's it! You can start your fire; in ten minutes, the heat recovery unit will heat your room efficiently and pleasantly.
How does the Equatair heat recovery unit :
The fan draws air from the room and sends it into the flexible duct and then into the heating element placed in the heart of the embers; the air absorbs a maximum of heat there and then diffuses it into your room.
The heat reclaimerr effective?
The air snakes for 1.70 meters (total length of the cast iron coil if it was "unfolded") in the hottest part of the chimney (750 to 850°C) and is then vented directly into the room when it has reached its maximum temperature.
Twenty minutes after lighting the fire, the air is already at 200°C, it can reach 350°C after one hour.
As dry air is blown through, there is no risk of burning; the principle is the same as that of a hairdryer.
With its heat output of 7,000 watts, the Equatair Classic can heat up to 230 m3.
This speed in obtaining a pleasant temperature in the room is particularly appreciable in second homes or for intermittent use of the fireplace (a few hours in the evening in particular).
The width of the heating body (50 cm) makes it possible to place this heat recovery unit even in small fireplaces; in large fireplaces, it corresponds to the effective width of the firebox (a log of one metre will only burn for 60 cm); a wider firebox would be less efficient.
Does a heat recovery unit really save money?
The fan consumption is very low (35 W); moreover, to optimize the efficiency of the heat recuperator, it is not necessary to maintain large flames, good embers are enough.
Comfortable:
Blown through a single mouth, the air is distributed horizontally and then harmoniously, giving an even temperature throughout the room.
Leaving the doors open will allow the heat to spread to the other rooms.
The foam filter, placed at the fan inlet, prevents the carbonization of dust.
Modular :
The heating element is reversible, it can be installed either with the air inlet on the right or on the left. The same applies to the Kit-deco.
The small elbow allows you to bypass the chimney jamb; it is placed between the flexible liner and the heating element.
At the outlet of the heater, the telescopic extension guides the air flow out of the fireplace for deep fireplaces.
These two accessories are delivered with the Equatair heat recovery unit.
Do you want to hide the flexible sheath?
Several possibilities are available (In all these cases, the flexible sheath can be replaced by steel tube diameter 48.3 mm, this is a standard dimension in heating, other name: 40-49):
- 1. you can drill a hole in the chimney jamb so that you can reach the heater directly from the fan; this is especially true for deep chimneys (a).
- 2. if you have a log box under the chimney, you can place the fan in it, and drill a hole in the hearth floor to bring the air directly to the heating element
