Rustol colorless rustproofing, 500 ml can OWATROL reference 164665
Let your materials stand the test of time with RUSTROL - OWATROL. This anti-rust treatment makes your materials more resistant, stops rust and protects them from external aggression. Used as an undercoat before your finishing paint, it guarantees a quality result and protects your materials from heat and humidity thanks to its protective film.
Properties
Penetrating rust inhibitor and direct rust insulator
- Penetrates to sound metal while expelling air and moisture.
- Forms a flexible, insulating protective film. Resistant to + 175°C.
Additive for oil-based paints, varnishes and glazes
- Dilution: 25 % per liter as a first coat or 50 % whether the substrate is smooth or porous.
- Rust-proofs glycerol-based paints, varnishes and woodstains. Facilitates application.
- Replaces thinners: does not evaporate.
- Increases the covering power of finishes.
All-substrate bonding base
- Pure as first coat.
- Adheres to all smooth surfaces: glass, PVC, ferrous and non-ferrous metals...
- Enables coating of aluminum, galva and zinc without de-rusting.
Decorative appearance
- Preserves the rusted appearance of substrates while protecting them.

Can be mixed with grease-binding woodstains for better impregnation of wood and protection of metal parts (hinges and fittings).
Incompatible with fast-drying paints (bodywork type), chlorinated rubber or two-component paints, water-based paints (see OWATROL E-B and FLOETROL).

Recommendations before application
Check that the surface is dry and free of grease and scale.
Application
RUSTOL-OWATROL is more effective on lightly oxidized substrates, as it uses rust as a pigment to form the protective film.
To render paints rustproof, always carry out a compatibility test and allow for a mixture of 25 % of RUSTOL-OWATROL and 75 % paint
To facilitate paint application, replace thinners by adding 5 % by RUSTOL-OWATROL.
