Collafeu : glue for refractory products, 300g pot

Features :

Refractory mastic adhesive based on alkali silicates and asbestos-free refractory fillers :

• Fixing of refractory products on metal parts subjected to high temperatures.
• Bonding of liners, sleeves and other refractory products.
• Installation of refractory bricks in furnaces and heaters.
• Fixing of braids (glass or ceramic fibres).
• Sealing of connections between muffler elements.

Implementation:

Preparation:

• Clean the surfaces properly (neither dusty nor greasy).
• Moisten porous surfaces (bricks, etc.).

Instructions for use :

• Do not apply the sealant if the temperature is below +5°C or above +40°C.
• Apply the adhesive on the surface, in beads or in dots and position the refractory material by crushing the adhesive.
• Hold the assembly for a few moments, let it dry and gradually increase the temperature.

Consumption :

• Depending on the extruded diameter, a 310 ml cartridge will allow to realize a length of cord (the length is expressed in meters) :

• Depending on the size of the joint and the application, a 310 ml cartridge or approximately 560 g will make a bond of a length (the length of the joint is expressed in meters) :

Cleaning of equipment :

• The cleaning of the equipment is done with water (hot if possible).

Product benefits:

• Temperature resistance up to 1100°C
• Doughy (does not run)
• Easily applied with a knife or a cartridge
• Excellent adhesion on metals, refractory products, rock wool, glass fibres (light vitrification on the surface) or ceramic fibres, in the form of cords, braids, cardboard, strips, fabrics, foams...
• The adhesion is not optimal until the material is baked.

Tips:

• In case of thickening or to facilitate the application of the product with a brush, COLLAFEU can be slightly diluted with water.

Storage:

• Store at a temperature between +5°C and +30°C.
• At 20°C, the shelf life of the product in its original closed packaging is 36 months.

Observations:

• Continuous storage at a higher temperature may, in some cases, alter the final characteristics of the product.
• The product must not be used in case of contact with water or high humidity, in thicknesses too great
• (> a few mm) and in technical bonding (heavy elements, subjected to shocks and vibrations by for example).
• The product is not suitable for bonding glass (e.g. insert glass) or enamelled surfaces.
• Settling of the adhesive may occur. In this case, remove the supernatant or re-mix the product before use.
