Principles of a Branch Saddle:
The PVC Branch Saddle is a building fitting allowing easy connection of a drainage tube to a main pipeline without the need to cut, disassemble or completely modify it.
Very practical in renovation, it allows simple and quick connection of a new element (washbasin, kitchen sink, toilet, etc...) to the main network.
For installation, simply drill the pipeline in place with a hole of equal or slightly larger diameter than the tube to be tapped at the desired location, then clip/glue the saddle body by aligning the previously made hole with the tapping. And that's it.
Specificities of Our Shaped Branch Saddles
Manufactured manually by cutting, transforming, then assembling and gluing existing materials, our shaped fittings inevitably have a rougher and less polished aesthetic than an injected fitting. However, their technical quality and resistance are tested randomly in our internal laboratory at the end of production.
The Saddle Body:
It is made using a Standardized Building PVC Tube (NF), cut and trimmed as necessary, in length. This tube is of equivalent diameter to that of the pipeline on which it will be clipped. The elasticity of the PVC will allow, during installation, to spread and then regain its initial shape by recovering the play to perfectly fit the support surface.
We intentionally make the body longer than the actual final need, which guarantees you an additional positioning, holding, and gluing surface. You can still perfectly cut it again if necessary.
On some saddles, it is sometimes possible that the diameter of the body seems visually smaller than the final diameter, but in reality, it is not: indeed, PVC is elastic and naturally contracts during cutting or shaping. Once clipped and in place, the PVC will perfectly regain its initial diameter and fit your pipeline.
The Tapping:
It is also made using a Standardized Building PVC Tube (NF) that we thermoform to create a female socket (tulip), which allows you to connect your tapping tube or possibly a male fitting (inspection cap, tee, etc...) very simply.
Once positioned hot, the tapping is permanently welded to the body using a specially developed Professional PVC glue that also guarantees watertightness.
During your positioning tests of the saddle before drilling, it may, in some cases, seem not to completely fit the main pipeline. A bit like it is hindered by a roughness. This is quite normal: indeed, the Tapping is sometimes positioned slightly recessed into the saddle body, to subsequently favor gravitational flows. Once you have made your drilling (preferably a bit wider than the tapping diameter), it will penetrate into the main pipeline, and your saddle will be perfectly in place.
The Installation:
Position the saddle at the planned location and mark the drilling location by passing through the inside of the tapping socket. You can also mark the edges of the saddle to help you reposition it later.
Drill (rather a bit wider than the initially marked diameter, which then favors gravitational flow). The dimensions of the saddle body allow you a great margin of maneuver.
Glue the inner part of the saddle body with a good PVC GEL glue, then replace the saddle in its final position.
